Summer is almost here — one of the busiest seasons for restaurants — so make sure you’re getting the most out of the BentoBox Marketing & Commerce Platform for an easier season.
Get a bird's-eye view of key metrics to know your diners better than ever (and their behaviors and preferences). Then, check out the new segmentation capabilities in your dashboard. Both updates help you create more powerful and effective automated marketing campaigns.
Better control over SMS notifications for Takeout & Delivery orders is available now, too. Check it all out below.
1. Diner Database Dashboard
Key diner and subscriber metrics now sit across the top of your Diner Database. At a quick glance, you can see high-level insights like the number of repeat diners and how many email subscribers you have. Below each metric, you’ll see a percentage change from the previous month.
All diner data is included in the dashboard — whether someone engaged with your restaurant in person or online. First time diners and repeat diner metrics will only be visible for customers using Takeout & Delivery and/or Online Catering.
Use the data captured and stored in your Diner Database to power your automated marketing campaigns across email and SMS messages to double your reorder rate.

2. In App Segmentation
Previously, it was only possible to build a custom segment by manually importing a list of diners. Now, you can create custom segments directly within your Diner Database. Simply select the diners you’d like to add to the segment using checkbox functionality within your dashboard.
Custom segmentation helps you connect with the right people at the right time. It enables you to tailor and personalize your marketing campaigns to specific groups of people based on their demographics, preferences, and engagement.

3. Takeout & Delivery SMS Notification Controls
Better control the communication of an order status. For orders placed through Takeout & Delivery, you can now enable or disable the SMS notifications for customers. When the SMS Order Notifications toggle is turned off, diners will no longer receive SMS notifications when their order is manually or automatically marked as "Done.”
