In 2019, Frasca Hospitality Group was a growing, James Beard Award-winning business. It had two operating restaurants (Frasca Food and Wine and Pizzeria Locale), a third opening soon (Tavernetta) and a fourth in development (Sunday Vinyl).

Unfortunately, its websites were managed by a remote contractor, and nobody in the group had access to the back-end. Every update had to go through a third party, which led to inaccurate information, delayed updates and confused guests. The websites themselves also offered limited customization, preventing Frasca from presenting its brand the way it wanted to.

With BentoBox, Frasca gained ownership and creative control over its digital presence, all while adding a trusted partner to its growth strategy.

Frasca approached BentoBox's design team with a challenge. It needed a separate website for each of its four concepts, and each website had to feel unique to the individual brand. But they also needed to feel cohesive across brands, creating a unified look for the group as a whole.

"We wanted to be able to tell the story and evoke the feeling of our restaurants right off the bat," explains Frasca Brand Director Erin Pommer.

Working closely with the Frasca team, BentoBox created a design system including similar page splits and overlays, plus shades of black and beige, for all four concepts. High-resolution photos and typography are prominent for all four concepts, but the photography style and fonts are different for each concept.

The footer on each website also links to the other restaurants in Frasca's portfolio, and with BentoBox's built-in Google Analytics integration, Frasca was able to measure a large amount of "cross-pollination" clicks. It had truly created a cohesive digital ecosystem, and all of it could be managed, quickly and easily, by the group's staff.

The homepage for Frasca Food and Wine follows the same layout as the rest of the group, but small design choices make it feel especially elevated.

The website for Sunday Vinyl also follows the same layout, but small design choices make it feel hipper and more kinetic.

Creative brand elements go farther than the homepage, as seen in the illustrations on Pizzeria Locale's menu page.

Tavernetta's website is as practical as it is beautiful, including a page that outlines each of its private event spaces, along with a form to submit online inquiries.

Sunday Vinyl hosts a weekly event where a musical artist is paired with a sommelier-curated wine flight. Its website shows guests the upcoming calendar.

I would recommend BentoBox to anybody. It's worth the investment and has been a great relationship.
